My day in bullet points.

Reasons today could have sucked:

-One student removed for calling teacher “dumb hoe” and overturning table in hallway.

-One student removed for a nifty little combination of name-calling and threats. When she found out she was being removed she ran back to the room and proceeded to go on a rampage, like a tornado, scattering papers around the room, overturning desks, and throwing chairs. Had to file police report.

-Had to escort pretty much everyone in the class down to social skills at least once for various reasons.

-After lunch three students walked out together. Had to call each of their parents and PO’s.

-One student called me his “girlfriend”, asked for my number, then when I refused proceeded to call me “fat and ugly.”

-Witnessed one staff member losing her temper and putting her hands on a student. Nothing violent, but inappropriate nonetheless.

-Just got home from school. I have about 20 minutes before I have to go to class, where I’ll be until about 9 tonight.

-I’m not caught up on Lost, so I can’t watch tonight.

Reasons today didn’t suck after all:

-Students engaged in reading “The House of Dies Drear”!

-Impressed students with my mad Eminem rapping skills.

-Brandi got a 4.0!!!! Yay!!!

-Witnessed students creating their own “beats” and actually knowing the names of quarter/half/whole note/rest etc.

-Got a chocolate chip cookie from staff member. Mmm.

-At the end of this very interesting day, one of our staff told me “You handled yourself very well today.”

-Got a 90 on the midterm I failed to study for! Woohoo!

-Get my Philosophy of Teaching paper back today, and find out my observation date.

-It’s the first day of spring!!
